Motive
Bleeder Quick Connect Adapter
Motive Bleeder produces
an outstanding brake fluid pressure bleeder that includes a universal
black plastic adapter as shown in right photo above. The adapter
replaces the brake cap while a chain routes under the reservoir
and is connected to the hooks. As you tighten the wing nuts, the
unit secures to the reservoir to form a seal.
I had difficulties obtaining a secure seal on my Viper and could
hear air leaks at higher pressure. Brake fluid will destroy paint
and I envisioned the seal coming loose and spraying fluid all
over the engine. The Dodge Viper factory service manual recommends
the use of a Miller Tools Special tool (Non-ABS Vipers 92-00 tool
shown in right
photo) for pressurized brake bleeding and I purchased it. The
unit consists of a machined aluminum adapter that replaces the
brake cap and forms an airtight seal. The unit comes with a brass
male threaded fitting and it is your task to find the right parts
to connect it to the Motive Bleeder.
I desired the best of both worlds. I wanted to connect the Miller
Tools adapter but also maintain the use of the Motive Bleeder
universal adapter for other vehicles. A quick-connect fitting
was the solution but obtaining the correct parts and sizes was
difficult. I also wanted a 90 degree bend on the end of the tube
to make it more convenient to use the tool.
HiPo Engineering has taken all the hassles out
of researching these parts and produced an inexpensive kit with
everything included.
- 2 non-valved nipples - 1 non-valved coupler - 2 hose barb -
1 street elbow - 2 hose clamps
*Kit does not include Miller Tools aluminum special
tool in photos above.
